Re: can anyone recommend a dishwasher for science
G'day all, We are looking at purchasing a dishwasher for the prep room and I would be grateful for any info or experiences you can relate or recommendations you can make. One caveat - we aren't interested in the bench top models. Many thanks, Craig Thomas Laboratory Manager Charles La Trobe College

Re: What a way to start the term!
I had a fridge containing rats and toads turned off at the powerpoint by an unthinking teacher. They had been using some piece of equipment in the lab in my absence and flicked off the wrong switch, cutting power to the fridge. This happened on a Friday - as I only work here on Tuesdays and Thursday...

Re: Brainiacs and magnetic cornflakes.
Just tried it with a Neodymium Iron Boron magnet on Rice Bubbles floating in a petri dish of water - and it works! According to the nutritional information on the packet there are 3 mg of iron per 30 g serve, so I guess that is enough. :) Has anyone tried this?? A strong magnet (probably neodynium) ...
