Re: Rehabilitating Plasticine?

There is a difference between playdough and plasticine (says the mohter of 3 under 8 lol). Playdoug you can just add a small amout of warm water, pop a lid on a container and check it every day or so. Plasticine aka modeling clay I have no idea. However, it doesnt get as dry as playdough as I suspec...

Anyone out there?

Happy New Year Everyone :drunk: I'm not sure who is around that this time of year, but if anyone is out there, does anyone have the "red" bunsen burners? HOD wants some good quality bunsens and mentioned some red ones she had at her previous school. If anyone knows how to source them I wou...

If you have a good look around there is heaps of info. Although the "summary" book to the official GHS document is 90-odd pages long 8O

Re: Chemffx Labels

Fibreweb, do you have an example? The classification and DG codes are different under the GHS, so the pictograms will change. There was a link on here somewhere to some info on the GHS which, with a little bit of searching, I found the new classification and pictograms (whcih you can actually print ...

Re: Where do you got your information from??

Although not in NSW, I get a lot of stuff from the OH&S supervisers at my schools. One is far better then the other for getting info to me. Under the new GHS, the Principal is the (and I cannot remember the actually wording) the head honcho when it comes to OH&S responsibility. So if he/she ...

Why the rush? We do not have to be GHS compliant by the 1st of Jan. I am updating my labels as I need to print new ones.

Re: Chemffx Labels

Do you use PC's or Mac's? Chemwatch was not set up for the Mac OS so it has some problems. Most of the problems I have found has been with formatting. I havent had a problem with the Windows.

Probably wont work for a prace exam but we sit up a different station for each chemical so there is no way they can be contaminated.

I really have no idea, but a resistor + liquid seems a recipe for disaster for this non physics person.

Re: Glass Making

Wouldn't glass making require extreme temperatures and/or pressure? I wouldn't think it appropriate for a school prac.

ETA: I found this link http://www.crystalartusa.com/simpleless ... aking.aspx for simple sodium borate glass.

Safety Shower testing

Do you test your safety showers as per the standard?
If so, do you use a safety shower sock?
They seem quite expensive and I am going to see if our maintenance guys can make something up but just wanted to see what others do.
