Yes, we use cheap balences and I have been impressed so far.
We bought 6 Kitchen Balances from Scienctific in January 2006. $35 each, Item SC5047, 2Kg/1g and still going strong.

Hello Robbie from Asquith NSW mentioned that he has plain screw tops for his dropper bottles and only attaches the dropper assemblies when required.
