Re: Which plant is best to use?

We have used the new soft leaves of hydrangeas too. Although that may be a challenge this time of the year in some areas as they are deciduous!!

Re: Bromothymol blue

Sorry I can't help, However I have always bought the premade solutions and never made it from a solid! We use this for everything you just mentioned. Because you only use a drop or 2 every time its not overly expensive! I have bought it once in 10years!

Re: finding 2M sulfuric acid on Chemwatch

Found it under Sulfuric acid 2m solution. When the list of chemical comes up and you can't find what you are after try clicking on the relevance button on the right hand side of the screen above where the lists start. It helps!!

Re: Dealing with a blocked burette

Do you use NaOH in your burettes? If so its probably that salt build up you get when NaOH is in glass. What about warm to hot water and soak?

Re: Pasteur Experiment

I'm sure Pasteur didn't have results in a week. I actually thought that the stock cubes had too much salt in them for a good growth. We use stock made from chicken wings and they have worked well the last few years!

Re: chemistry

We use Gooch crucibles with the side arm flasks and vacuum pumps and have had great success. The gooch crucible is a sintered glass crucible with a porcelain filter in the bottom. I think the No.4 is what you need. They are expensive but have always worked for us.
