Re: looking for a temporary position in western Sydney area

Dont give up hope ricepaper, I was working in schools for 4 years as a casual, moving from school to school, wherever they need me, then I got into a school as full time casual, because I knew the lab tech there got a transfer. During the year I was hoping the job would be advertised and I could app...

Re: Chloroform

Hi Graeme We were actually storing it for D&T, which is probably why I didnt come across it in last years stocktake, I think they put it in the flamm cupboard after. But you are right and that is exactly what they were using it for. I have now calmed down about it and we are going to keep it and...

Re: Chloroform

My HT has definately backed me, I am lucky to work with her. This other teacher, I have no idea what he would do with these chemicals, if he took them home, which he has been told in no uncertain terms, he is not to remove. He is a great teacher, and a HUGE hoarder, I would hate to do a risk assessm...

Re: Lab tech VS library assistant

I have been the "check out chick", at bilo, I didnt think the money was so good,it is only 5%disc, but you can use your disc card at target, liquorland and some other places, the hours are awful, and the customers can be terribly abusive, especially when I thought they can wait for their sm...

Re: Eco Solve 2 day conference

I know we seem to go over this subject, but I thought I would let you know how the Risk-Assess,(EcoSolve) risk assessments are going for us; we have found it very user friendly, most of the equipment is in the data base, it is being added to regularly, and all of the chemicals with the different con...

Re: Colours of MSDS's

Hi Sue,
dont you think that is a huge waste of paper and resources, but seeing as that seems to be the way to go, I am going to put full msds, and only for hazardous chemicals, as per CSIS, on a CD and put a copy in the folder with my minis,

Re: Colours of MSDS's

I believed that minis were ok so long as full msds were accessible, ie chemwatch, and that we didnt need paper copies, in saying that I always keep manufacturers msds when they are sent

Re: galvanic cells- metal strips

I rang a local scrap metal/ recyclers and they said they had all sorts of metals, just need to ask if they have the particular one you are after, at the time. They charge by weight, may be worth a try

yes, chemwatch, but the colour of the MSDS doesnt always coincide with the colour dot for the particular chemical, I was just wondering if the MSDS colour was relevant.

Colours of MSDS's

Hi All,
I am printing out some new MSDS's and I was wondering, along with everything else our brilliant minds remember, are we to note or learn the colours of the mini MSDS's? Only asking as I print everything on a B&W printer.

Re: Eco Solve 2 day conference

Hi Noona, maybe Robbie can explain this better, or more accurately, but I was led to believe that the CSIS package is only a guide, and is quite a few years old, things have changed with the laws involving schools, the Australian standards and workcover etc, and we are needing to cover ourselves mor...
