Re: chemwatch labelling
Its a bit strange here too . I'm not getting what you are though.
Printing a Label from a Chemgold MSDS works fine but can't print labels from Vendor MSDS...just a box saying Chemwatch haven't assessed them or the likes .Tried many and all the same

If you are throwing the image straight to a Data projector then the resolution does not need to be very high . Consider that most schools still have 600 x 800 resolution projectors ...that's just under 0.5 Mega pixals Even a HD projector with a 1080 x 1920 resolution will be a fraction over 2 Mega p...

We use the Aqueous Iodine as you posted . I had one teacher complain too . Turns out they were using a 600mL beaker full of water and adding a few drops of Iodine solution . When I tipped half the water out and poured in the Solution so it was a light brown colour , they gasped .....moments later th...

Call Chemwatch on (03) 9573 3157 . They should be able to help you recover what is there . They are very helpful When they ask for your account , assuming you are a DoE school then your the account will be decXXXX where XXXX is your school number . Little changes from year to year so probably most o...

Harvey , maybe Ocker is referring to separating the PCB from the front panel in a 2633-001. Here's one I had to repair. On taking the covers off the first thing that alarmed me was that the insulation card board ( prespahn) was not installed correctly. :club: The way it was positioned provided no pr...

Melded I've had two do that . One was shorted rectifier diodes and the other shorted OVP zener diodes. You can buy the bits from IEC . Being a TV tech I found it no biggy to fix but you will need a good soldering iron and solder sucker .......and about an hour. But we are probably not allowed to :-(...

How tight the screw is done up is important. Too loose and the wire will pull out . Too tight and the screw will cut into the wires severing them as opposed to "biting " into them to make a connection...this causes the remaining strands to brake when tugged on . It is good to fold the stri...

Re: Ammonium Nitrate 0.1M solution
Well that makes more sense Elizabeth .
But as a DoE school are we in our rights to trust what RiskAssess says or are we still bound to interpret the CSIS as best we can .
I'm still thinking about RiskAssess but if we can't be guided by it ( due to having CSIS ), is there any point .

Ours is Orange Dot also . 0.1M is 8g per Liter ( according to my recipe book ) so it is less than 5% solution .....Good question Kathryn ...I can't see any reason why ours is an orange Dot other than there is nothing that specifically says <5% can be a Green Dot . To my simple mind Non hazardous wou...

It really is silly labbie . next on the list calcium sulphate ....again nearly every supplier has it as non hazardous but chemwatch has a warning on it and several supplier MSDS link to the chemwatch SDS . I realise we must obey the CSIS , but I thought that DoE schools had to use chemwatch , hence ...
