Cleaning bones for obsevation

Hey Everyone,

Just wondering if anyone knows a way of cleaning the meat from chicken bones so the students can observe the bone structure. Ive had a unsucessful attempt with 1M HCl and not really sure what else to try.

Hi Xenon,
Thanks for the response but the HCl acid is made up to 0.5M for a titration assessment for year 12. I can't dilute the acid. It is also reacting funny with alkalis and neutrals.

Any other suggestions

Bromothymol blue

Hi Everyone,

I'm after some wisdom.....we have a batch of Bromothymol blue made up and instead of turning yellow in an acid we are getting a beautiful pink colour.....any suggestions?????

Hi All,

Just wondering if someone knows a chemical that will dissolve plastic but not metal......I'm trying to get the silicon from computer chips without breaking them..........it may not be possible....just wondering.

Silicon piece

I need to find a piece of silicon large enough to grab with aligator clips......I have looked through the order catalogues and I can't find anything I can use.........any ideas would be great :-)
