Vickir could you also email me the supplier. I have just received an order with chemicals in it and there was certainly no SDS at all included.
Is it stated somewhere that it is a WHS rule that they are supposed to be supplied with any purchase of chemicals??

Re: Chemical Storage Container
I use film canisters. They are becoming harder to access from photographers and I have got some from the BigW photo section. One of our teachers purchased some from ebay for me. They work well and I have a 10 piece class set in the dropper bottle trays of quite a few different chemicals in the chem ...

Re: Do you move around?
Yes I do. I have 3 days a week in Science and 2 days in the office. So Science has no Lab Assistant the days I am in the office although I can duck down to Science if someone needs something through my Office days. It works out very well and I thoroughly enjoy both spots.

Re: Autoclave
Our pressure cooker is a household one - reasonably old model. Hawkins brand. Holds approx 15 plates which i put into an oven bag and boil away for 25 - 30 minutes. Does the job. I am going on what the previous Lab Assistant was doing.

Re: Mercurochrome
We still use mercurochrome at home ("red stuff" as our kids call it) and my Mum used it on us. It works a treat on grazes and cuts or any other dings. I have not long ago bought a new bottle from our local pharmacy. Even the grandkids ask for "red stuff" now.

Oh Macca, these holidays 2 years ago I too had dental surgery - the start of the worst period of my life. I hope yours goes better than mine, I'm sure it will.

I was talking to Bill at Serrata this morning about an outstanding order - he didn't mention any problems, only that he was very very busy. A really nice guy who is always very helpful.

Re: Retort Stands, Clamps and Boss Heads
I did the same as Labbie with our retort stands, I bought 3 different colours of spray paint -"Galmet metal protection hammered metal finish".
They look like new, different colour for each Lab (only 3 Labs here) - still looking great after 3 years.
I even did our old bunsens.
