Re: Thats All Folks
Hi All, I still have a week and a half to go. We use some T&D time banked during the year, to cover Thurs & Fri, then we knock off Wednesday lunch time, and go down the local for a nice lunch. (officially, the SSO Xmas get together) A pleasant way to end the year. But, like Pommy, I'm glad I...

Richard, How awful for you, I felt so sad when I read your post. It must be devastating to see all that hard work destroyed, and to lose some of your precious animals as well. I sincerely hope you get a lot of support while trying to pick up the pieces,(I think we'd all be there if we could) and eve...

Re: Real life bugs and insects
Wendy,
I saw this advertised on telly last night, and thought the same as you. A great way to extend the specimen collection.
I had forgotten about it , until I saw your post, so thanks for reminding me, I'm off to speak to someone with money!!
Cheers,
Lisa

Hi All,
Have received mine this morning, but haven't had much of a chance to look at it. I will be filling it out a.s.a.p though. This should be very interesting.
Cheers,
Lisa

Re: Chloroform
Makes you wonder what in gods name the teacher would do with it if he/she took it home, I'd be interested to hear his/her reasons for wanting it, if he/she gave you any.
I would also like to know what you ended up doing, Lisa, and if your HT backed your decision.
Cheers,
Lisa

Hi,
This is one I got off of this site. I don't know if it is the one you're after, but it is a good one to have anyway. http://learn.genetics.utah.edu/units/ac ... /index.cfm

I think we are all very fortunate to have Robb on board, and I, for one, love the Astronomy thread, and other space forums(never miss an episode!!!). And, like you Richard, I can't believe how he does it all. I agree, there must be lots of Robb clones.Compared to Robb, my life is positively boring, ...

Hi,
Same as Loopy, I use "Oomph" on all sorts of things, it's great stuff. I also find those magic sponges(they are blue and white, sold at supermarkets) great for pen, pencil and texta marks, and you only need the damp sponge.
Cheers,
Lisa

Helie, I replied in your other post. I'm the one that wanted to know what a bio flask was. I have pulled out one of these Kipps Apparatus, but I do want to keep it for display. But I do have a lot of distillation stuff to go through, so I will let you know if I come across the bit you need. A bit of...

Re: Wanting to purchase
Hi Helie, Welcome to the Chemtalk "family". Could you tell me what a Bioflask looks like. (Has it another name?) I am going through my glassware at the moment, and getting rid of a lot of stuff we no longer use. If I have a Bioflask that we don't use, I would be happy to send it to you, bu...

Pasteur's Experiment
Hi All, A teacher is doing Pasteur's Exp. this week, and this is the first time I have set it up. I have been reading other forums on the subject, but most related to the type of equipment used, and different set up techniques. My teacher has requested large test tubes, cotton wool(to stopper the to...

Hi Lorrae,
Can't help you on the EUD, never heard of it, but in S.A, our main supplier is Omega Scientific. They have Potassium Iodide, 100g, for $27.00 incl. GST, if you're interested.
Cheers,
Lisa

Smiley,
I'm with Lorrae!! As yet another cold front sweeps into Adelaide, I can picture myself updating my "fume cupboard skills" whilst floating around the Great Barrier Reef. I think that would "refresh" my memory quite nicely. Count me in!!
Cheers,
Lisa

I admire your loyalty, Richard. If I was on $30,000 a week, I'd be so far away from my lab,(like, on an island off the coast of Vanuatu somewhere!!) I wouldn't be needing a labcoat or safety glasses, even if they were gold and flashy!!! Don't forget to order a matching set for Brian, Christian Dior ...
