Re: Frozen Rats

Thanks guys very helpful. :D

I think I might do what Dime would do, leave them out in view for the cleaners. They will love it. :wink2: :cheesy: :cheesy:

Re: Frozen Rats

I've never used frozen rats before, but are now needing to as I can't get fresh ones anymore, so was wondering how long it takes them to thaw out? Do you thaw them out in the fridge (like meat at home) or on the bench? Are there any other tips I should know when using frozen rats? Thanks for your an...

Rmoving whiteboard marker from projector screen

Hi All, Just had the principal take an English lesson in the science lab (3 classrooms down due to renovations, so science labs are being used as normal classrooms as well as labs) and she managed to get whiteboard marker on our brand new projector screen  The mark is almost smack bang in the m...

Re: u tube and jelly babies and potassium chloride

I don't know if it is banned here in Tassie or not, but I got rid of mine years ago (along with the white phosphorus and other nasties). It was just too nasty to have in a school.

Re: what do you use to dissect on

We use metal dissecting trays. They used to have wax in them but I took it out, much easier to keep clean. Haven't done a rat dissection for 6 or more years so we don't need the wax anyway.

Just what I need! :D

Thanks Rosemary for starting the thread, and to the others that replied, saved me having to do a search.

Now I can share my wisdom with the teachers and make them all happy.

Re: CONSTANZ 09

Sandy Bay is a suburb of Hobart, so a bit over 2 hours away.

Rosalie, I hope your hotel has a heater. It gets very cold in Launceston, especially over night. Last night it got down to -1 degrees! Luckily it doesn't get that cold down here.

Re: CONSTANZ 09

Finally got my application to attend CONASTA approved! :D :clap3: \:D/ But the best thing is that the school is paying for it!!! =D> :D The only downside is that I have to share a hotel room with HOD. 8-[ Not too bad though, he is a great bloke. So it looks like I am heading north to Launceston at t...

Re: Won't do that again!

I left the scapels in bleach over night once and came back the next day to brown sludge at the bottom of the container. I can remember thinking why did I think that was a good idea at the time! I've now always managed to clean up before I've left for the day. I've also left milk in the frid...

Hi Robyn,

I used the oil method just last Friday and it worked extremely well. :D

I will now store them vertically and see if this makes a difference as the other Robyn pointed out.

Regards
