I have some recently purchased universal indicator pH 3- pH11 double checked the bottle!! :? The solution is green pH7 colour according to the chart. When added to Tap water pH6 yellow Deionised water is pH6 yellow Sodium hydroxide wont go to pH11 purple but pH11 blue?? :oops: Can anyone explain or ...

With insects once they are dry you cant 'pickle' them.
If they are pinned out then leave them that way as they are delicate
You can make a display board of inscect classification and then use them for Y7 'making a key', classification
Flys/beetles/butterfies etc.
Great for open days..'Bug Board'

After the sand paper if your block is still murky use, Bicarb, a drop of water & soft cloth then dry. Next, toothpaste, water and soft cloth.
You need to add muscle as well!
These are finer abrasives which help polish up the surface.

Your local Catholic High school will always have a RE department who is usually doing charity work for schools in the outback or OS. I have pitcher plants 'monkey cups' the live in a lab by the window which has a blind pulled down most of the time. Still going strong! I have it siting in a tray of disilled water which I allow to dry off for a few days then top it back up. I have never feed it and it grown like a weed and about 4y...

We dont lock anything here during the day! My teachers are great, the only one who sometimes helps himself is a chem teacher & I dont mind. Prep rooms are always unlocked, labs are unlocked but I do ask that the doors are closed after class. Chemical store is unlocked but door is closed. Student...

I pick off the main bits by hand or metal spatula then run them through the dishwasher.
It must be hot enough as it removes the residue, glassware is clean!
