Just for interest sake....I have all the chemicals you listed except Lead carbonate.

When I do this yearly job, I recycle the old ones and put the new msds on the back of the old sheets (after putting a cross through the old one) and I now print them out on two pages per sheet, my folders aren't so chock a block now.....

For really strong thread I have been piching some of my husbands braided fishing line, it works great.

I would love a supplier of good thick walled and rimmed test tubes............

I know how you feel, my 18 year old son joined the navy last September, thankfully he is at Cerberus which is 2 hours from us, not looking forward to when he goes some where else..................

I also get to go on out ed. camps once a term, thats my reward for putting up with crazy science teachers....

Pondering if staff need to sign risk assesments that they have read and signed previously, ie when they do the same pracs each year?
What do other schools do?

At the moment if they did the prac last year and signed, I am not getting them to sign again.....

My best effort so far has been throwing out a bundle of year 7 posters, before the staff member had marked them........

I have had a teacher bring in stinging nettles when her class was looking at classification............................smart.................

When they have MSDS such as these it devalues the information on real MSDS's. We know these things aren't true for coffee, does it mean that such warnings on other chemicals aren't to be taken seriously also????!!!!

I have looked into it, as far as I can see it is ok for us to have red phosphorus but not white. Any other Vic labbies feel free to tell me other wise. Wouldn't it be nice if all the regulations and guidelines we work under were federal and not state..............

One of the teachers here wants to know if there are any demo's to show how red phosphorus works, like the sodium and potassium demo's. (I say, just strike a match!)
