Do as Rob says as you may find that not all the Calcium has oxidised as you think, and there is the possibility of a vigorous reaction to water still.

Hi

Try a conc. solution of Pyroneg, its fairly agressive detergent, and soak for a day or too. I still like Chromic Acid for such things, but that a no no these days.

Hi again

In regard to MSDS's from Suppliers, almost all of them supply the full MSDS, as they are mandated to supply all information. I prefer the full, but its a bit much for Teacher's and Students.

The one pager seems to satisfy most of their needs, but not mine.

Dilute the Conc HCl to about 10-20% in plastic bucket then add Sodiun BiCarbonate. Lots of bubbles. Keep adding the BiCarb till no further bubbling.
