Re: Chem. Stores

We have only wooden shelves, we put a slab of glass down, then the items on top. Old pieces of glass, or even a glass tray. We have our Class 8 in glass trays on wooden shelves, its the best we can do for now.

Re: HCL

It is a very good rule to always use Distilled water for Diluting anything. It is one of the purest waters we can use.

Re: HCL

I think in this case Breakdown, means if you are going to Dilute DOWN to another M. Say you had 6M eg 500ml of 6M add 2.500ml of distilled water for 1M.

Re: Ammonium Phosphate?

Sorry you also asked what is the difference between.

Tribasic has 3 Replaceable Hydrogen atoms
MonoBasic has 1 Replaceable Hydrogen atom
Di Basic has 2 Replaceable Hydrogen atoms

So each one would have a different Molecular weight

Do that help any more

Frog's lizards, snakes in persertives in a jar, also seems also bring the students to the glass cabnet to look see. These cabnets are locked, so we do not seems to have any thing go missing. Dried flowers cut or pressed ( although they dry out) do add a little interest. Their are some really good po...

Re: Cobalt Chloride Paper

So far so good. Remove the drying trays from the oven while still hot, and with forceps, place the strips in a air tight wide neck jar, amber glass is better, with a good lid. Put some Silica in the bottom, Blue & Pink beads, they will help keep the Moisturiser out of the Cobalt Chloride paper. ...
