Re: Heinemann Chemistry Practical Manual Teachers resource book

I would be interested if any one had spares too. You cannot buy them from the publisher and I could do with 2 as well.

Re: Where to buy talc in rock form

And Wollongong city council did it too. They formed side of road barrier piles that had asbestos in it. Councils have to purchase there material from somewhere too and if it has asbestos surely it should be the supplier who is in trouble.

Re: Where to buy talc in rock form

The funny thing is, Adrianna, it was the road where I grew up that was one of them. In there defence I think they purchased road base/ recycled cement from somewhere that had asbestos in it. I'm sure it wasn't deliberate.

use 0.1M solutions and make up copper chloride, lithium chloride, strontium chloride, sodium chloride, potassium chloride and barium chloride.
The flames will be green, pink, dark pink, yellow, lilac and green Have fun experimenting.

Spelling of Sulf(ph)ur

FYI Quote taken from Nature.com Thought this was interesting "It is the International Union of Pure and Applied Chemistry (IUPAC) who deal with questions of nomenclature and naming when it comes to chemical elements and compounds. And so when IUPAC decided that element 16 should be spelled as '...

I agree Kathryn. Just the fact that it has been brought to his attention with the possibility I would have thought would make it a duty of care.

I'm sure CSIS was written before there was a thought that the talc could possible contain asbestos.

Re: GHS Labelling and frustrations with Chemwatch

I just looked it up under the 'f' and there was certainly plenty of options. I don't know what molarity was required but I couldn't see a problem. It also included 'ph' options too.

Re: 0.1%

My chem teacher uses C1V1=C2V2 for any concentration calculation.
so:
0.1%x 500 = 80% x V2

So I think the volume would be 0.625ml in 500ml

Re: Trolley Feedback

I have about 6 of these and I love them! Easy to manoeuvre, light weight, plenty of room, easy to clean. Seem to be chemical resistant. Will negotiate uneven ground.

Does any one have a copy or knows where I can find the safety standards that refers to window coverings? Many T...

Pretty sure this I had one which the on off switch went on. I had our maintenance man look at it and couldn't find the fault but another fellow here who loves electronics pulled it apart and found a fault which he couldn't repair. Pretty sure it was a lightning strike that blew it up til then I had ...
