Re: What to wear
Speak for yourself, I am both smarter AND I look smarter than the office ladies (and the teachers too for that matter) :cheesy: But then again I am vain and I am swedish :giggle: Todays outfit; Dark blue high waisted denim skirt (a bit on the short side), white and orange stripey tight t-shirt, blac...

protein solution for food tests
Hi, We are about to do a prac exam for yr8 using food tests :boring: , the teachers want an 'unknown solution' for the kids to test and they want that to be protein and starch solution. What would you be using as the protein solution, I was thinking about peptone, but I am not sure it would work as ...

Re: What to wear
Weeeell being a bit of a fashionista and a shoe-o-holic I refused to have anyone telling me what to wear :hitthefan: When I started here they told me no denim, I politely replied that unless they pay me better I will wear whatever I see fit :wink2: I refuse to go buy nice pants to wear at work, when...

Re: iodine solution
Thanks you guy :clap3: Thought I'd have to chuck the whole thing out... Bindi, I have had some very stubborn iodine stains on my benches, one day I dropped a bottle of vitamin C powder on the stain (being the clutz that I am) and miraculously the stain vanished when i started wiping the vitC off :w0...

iodine solution
Morning, Needed to make up 2L of iodine solution (for prac exam) and consulted the laboratory and followed the recipe as per page 75. It said to make 24hrs before as iodine is slow to dissolve. So I left it over night and covered it with some alfoil, so crap wouldn't fall into the solution. Came in ...

Re: Nutrient agar plates
Hi, Yes you are right! I look into it and that is what subculturing means! It is perfectly safe to take swabs from different locations around the school, as long as they are incubated in less than 30degreeC and as long as the plates remain sealed! Unlucky for me, cause I really hate this prac, altho...
