Hi I put in a good squirt of 6M sulfuric acid, and rinse well with distilled water after. MariaC
PS make sure the acid has mixed well in the water or nothing happens for ages.....

A new CSIS, Ive been hearing that for years! Can it really be that hard, most of it is fine, its only the chemicals that have changed class, and new GHS storage rules that need up dating.

I still get mine from the butcher, I have to order ahead but they still cost $5- per eye as they have to pay a guy just to come in and remove the eyes at the abattoir. MariaC

Ive never had problems with this prac, is your agar old? and do you use a thermometer to check the temp when it boils? We have two dishwashers, SORRY! Our Bosch is only a year old and has broken already, and guess what no spare parts in Australia so not recommended! I have big red signs on mine that say no crockery, Ive tried to add but not sure how to do so fingers crossed!
