Re: Holidays

I'm having a quiet one too as I'm saving for a family trip to vietnam next easter :clap3: plus I have just finished renovations on the bathroom and it ended up costing more then expected :redcard: therefore cant afford to go anywhere. Luckily the weather is beautiful here in Townsville.

A couple of students rub the gel on their hands (glitter simulating germs) students go around the shaking hands with each other, and watch the glitter (germs) spread. Its even quite hard to remove...

Re: split pea DNA

I always use bananas as they are diploid or sometimes triploid so always heaps of DNA. I have also have a method that is very simple with a lot less cleaning involved. Guaranteed to work every time. Here is a picture of an extraction from last week. bananaDNA.jpg :clap3: :clap3: :clap3:

How would you even think you would be responsible for that incident in any way. Whatever happens in the classroom is the teachers responsibility.

Re: First day back and not happy

Yes it has happened to me here too. Unfortunately the freezer had toads, hearts and eyeballs in it. Worst job ever to clean it out. I did eventually get the smell out so perservere if you think its worth it. Lesson learnt: I never keep any meats in the freezer over the holidays, what ever is left ov...

Re: disposal of contaminated solids

I have saturated solutions made up and when a prac is required I pour about 20 mls into small labelled beakers . I then top up my sat solutions with water ready for the next prac. This has lasted me all year. No complaints just praise which is nice.
