dissolving hard sodium thiosulfate

Hi Everyone, a science teacher has heated sodium thiosulfate in test tubes to make crystals is there anyway I can save the test tubes as the sodium thiosulfate is hard as a rock. :-(

soak in really really hot water, its takes a little time, but it has always worked for me. Take care some will break.

thanks labbie had then in hot water yesterday but teacher came in this morning and heated it up with a Bunsen burner and they can right out
