weirdest things
Re: weirdest things
If you go to their website or call them it tells you where they sell in your local area. I bought heaps from IGA after contacting them. woolies doesn't sell it anymore.
I hope that helps.
oh and by the way I buy jucket from woolies it is in the powered pudding isle.

Re: weirdest things
THANKS - we also have an account at bunnings - will send the GA.
Re: weirdest things
Remlap12, I was going to let my boss fill it in but they decided not to go ahead once they knew they had to waste their own time and send their details.
Wish I had an account with bunnings as I am always there lately! I have one account only with woolies and then if they dont have it, I have to pay for it with my own money and wait to get it back

On the current tub i have it says 'in the laundry aisle' I have been up and down woolworths, different woolworths and cant see it.
Is it something like Junket, that i would more likely find in IGA?
I bought borax from Bunnings this week $9.40 for a kilo, happy with that!

Re: weirdest things
My Physics teacher asked if I could get him some fresh deer poo as his daughter is studying the impact of deer on cows? It has to be fresh, put in an air tight bag and then in the fridge. I'll just have to sit in the paddock and wait for a feral deer and hold a bucket under his tail I guess!
Re: weirdest things
That's classic. We do get asked for some unusual things don't we. Why can't the daughter do it herself?
Re: weirdest things
WOW surely that is wayyyyy outside your job description!!!!mtg wrote:My Physics teacher asked if I could get him some fresh deer poo as his daughter is studying the impact of deer on cows? Re: weirdest things
When I first started here the head Teacher wanted some Jasper from a site 1 hour away from Tamworth to make Aboriginal weapons.
Being very new to the job that's what I did on my weekend. Drove all the way out there and collected rocks that incidentally were never used!
If asked the same now I would tell him what to do with his rocks!
(That head teacher didn't last long, we have a great one now)

Re: weirdest things
Re Deer poo, I have a deer hunter friend (said Physics teacher fixed his walkie talkie) who may be able to find some or extract some, and the teacher and daughter (one of my fav ex students) live far away from the deer infested bush. I just thought it was a most unusual request! I offered wombat, rabbit, cow, dog, fox or wild duck poo, but she only wants deer.
Re: weirdest things
I personally wouldn't have offered anything, I have a weak stomach for those kind of things.
I hope you got a really good present for Christmas!!!

Oh dear indeed!

Re: weirdest things
Yes it definitely wins....
So I was just wondering if others get asked to do things outside their job description for teachers or others and what are some of the requests. did you do it?

Re: weirdest things
You know those Lab Tech instructions that begin with ....Simply blah blah blah.
Well I had to "simply" get some marsupial hair, to make a cross-section slide. This shows that marsupial hair has a figure 8 kind of a cross section, whereas all mammals - humans, dogs, cats, cows etc - have an oval shaped cross-section. Also, different hair cortexes.
So, thinking outside the box, I rang the local tourist traps....I mean Wildlife establishments. I got to hug a koala, while the keepers ran inside out sticky tape down his back, then we got a Bettong and finally a paddymelon. So I think I have a fairly unique set of slides, and yes, the whole cross-section/cortex thing is true and visible.

Re: weirdest things
The poo is still pending.....
Apparently it needs to be collected into a special container.
The saga continues.......
