thermometer stoppers for distillation prac

Post by RosalieM »

Hi everyone,
I am trying to order some thermometer holders (see attached) and I'm being very unsuccessful! I have looked through several catalogues (can't recall which ones though - I thought I was on a winner with Livingstone but i didn't get what I thought I was going to get. They are onto it now trying to see if they have what I'm looking for, but if they don't...?) Do any of you know where I can get these from?
Rosalie

Yep, Lorrae is spot on.
:-) I have always called them thermometer valves.
I have a number of valves that have lost the little washer . Theyre useless without the washer in them. Serrata dont stock the replacement washers. Anyone have any ideas?

Yes I am also looking for the little washers too. The ones I do have are made of thick felt. If I could source some thick felt (4mm thick) I may be able to cut some washers using cork borers.

Hi RosalieM,
If this has not been solved as yet, try using an ordinary firm fitting O ring to make the seal
