70% Sulfuric Acid

Post by Julia »

Hi everyone,

I'm in a bit confused, I'm setting up a prac that requires 70% sulfuric acid. It's for breaking cell walls of foods, fresh and processed. (upper school)
The trouble is the science staff are divided as to what molarity it should be.
I've made it around 7M which I think is strong enough, rather than 12.6M.
The experiment came out of the "web of life" 5a.2

Thanx

Sulfuric Acid Concentration from % v/v to Molarity

Post by Robb »

Hi Julia,

You will find that the Molarity will be 11.48M for the 70% Aqueous Sulfuric Acid Solution.

I hope this settles some doubt.

Hi Julia
I am using this website whenever I do not know exact molarity. it is easy to use it and it is free. For better websites you have to pay
