Hey! Well done Lorrae (and daughter). My 17 yo son went in to Kensington this afternoon for his interview for the NSYF. He will not find out if he has been successful until the middle of next week. His speech was about whether Scientific interest and aptitude was Genetic or Environmental! Either way, the kid of a "Labbie" can't really miss out on Scientific Aptitude, I think!

Ah Drat! The "Wonder Boy" missed out! :-(
Oh well, he gave it a good try, but it is a pretty competitive with over 200 of the best Science students competing for 50 positions. We just were not up to the high standards set by that lot down at Burradoo! :clap3:
Any way, Lorrae, it is a shame that we won't catch up at Canberra. Congratulations again to your daughter. My boy will have to find some other mountains to climb! :console:
regards
Ian :)

Hi Ian,

Sorry to hear he didn't get in. My daughter had to go to Canberra because our district rotary takes in southern highlands , southern tablelands, Canberra, and then batemans bay area.

There were 67 kids competing for 17 positions.

Congrats to your daughter, Lorrae!

I was lucky enough to be selected for the NYSF in 2000, and it was among the best two weeks of my life  A really amazing experience.

She will have a ball!
