Oxidised Calcium

Post by Robb »

Hi hel,

To dispose of this (being in the form that it is) I would dissolve small amounts in large volumes of water.

Do this in a fume cupboard where practicable, this wont be an issue if small quantities at a time are used eg 25g at a time.

Because the build up of the oxide has occured the better option is to use water.

This will help.

Cheers,

Robb.....

Do as Rob says as you may find that not all the Calcium has oxidised as you think, and there is the possibility of a vigorous reaction to water still.
