INSERTING and/or REPLACING GLASS TUBING IN RUBBER BUNGS.

Post by ird »

To ELIMINATE the RISK of injury as no force on the glass tubing is required!!

Locate the size of cork borer that just fits over your glass tubing, push the borer through the hole, insert the glass tube through the borer ensuring that it is positioned where you want it in the stopper, gently remove the borer with a back and forth twisting motion.

This method enables you to fit tubing into a smaller hole than you are able by forcing the glass tube through and therefore it will form a gas tight seal.

To replace a broken tube, locate the size of cork borer that will just fit over the glass tube, slide borer over tube from the non broken end if possible, with a back and forth twisting motion work the borer through the bung, the tubing can then be removed and a new tube placed into the borer, then proceed as above.

This method works for thermometers as well.
