Sucrose Solution Expiry

Post by Robb »

Hi Pommy,

Sucrose solutions could be made on a need to use/have basis, that way there are no storage issues.

It usually keeps around 3 days, (Just to be safe).

I made my solutions up at Uni and only kept these for a few hours but I was also experimenting with Optical Rotation of reducing sugars.

Cheers,

Thank you Robb, I thought it was only 3 days. It is just that we had some left over, (ordered too much) and I just thought I would ask.

Thank you

Hi Sue,
when we make up sucrose solutions, or starch or glucose - it seems to keep for many weeks in the fridge. We only discard it if it shows signs of mold.......
