I have two 125ml bottles of nail polish remover in the cupboard for students to use when they try to get away with wearing nail polish to school (but don't get away with it!). Do I REALLY have to print out 2 copies of 12 pages of SDS?? (One copy for in here and one for the office.) Such a waste of paper when no one is ever going to look at it and it is such a small amount.

Re: Another question about SDS
Short answer: yep.
But, is this the manufacturer's SDS or one from Chemwatch? I don't recall having a SDS for nail polish remover that was 12 pages long. I know Chemwatch can supply ridiculously long SDSs for some products. Also check the type of nail polish. There are non-acetone ones that are of a lower risk, which is good thing to be using anyway, plus the bonus, the SDS will probably be shorter.

Independent School. I looked up Coles homebrand. Their SDS is linked to Chemwatch hence the 12 pages (for non-acetone).

Re: Another question about SDS
It's a bit of a grey area. Things that are in a domestic quantity and used in a domestic manner then you don't strictly need an SDS. If they are a domestic product used in a non domestic manner or stored in a larger than domestic quantity then yes, you need an SDS.
One could argue that the nail polish remover used to remove nail polish falls into the former category.

Re: Another question about SDS
I agree with linotas. My understanding is, if the product is a domestic item and is used as per the instructions on the bottle, no SDS is needed. It would only be needed if you intended on using the nail polish remover for a prac.
