Borosilicate Watch glasses
Re: Borosilicate Watch glasses
Hi bigmack,
Try Modern Teaching Aids
https://www.teaching.com.au/search?acti ... atch+glass
Very reasonably priced, I am thinking of getting ammeters from there too.

Re: Borosilicate Watch glasses
Thanks Ines
They seem to be Soda glass .Seems that's what all our regular suppliers have .
I was looking for Pyrex ( Borosilicate ) ones as we have been having a lot crack when they do a prac where they are on a beaker of water heated with a Bunsen with Ice cubes in them .
HT has now decided that its going to be cheaper to loose a few to cracking than spend over $30 each for Pyrex ones.
Another teacher has just mentioned that she never cracks them because she tells the kids to put a bit of water in the watch glass with the Ice cubes .
