Yr 11 s testing red Phosphorous

Yr 11 Chemists are testing properties of (red) phosphorous.
How do you guys do it? Suggesting hitting the elements with hammer, bending electrical conductivity etc. How do we treat /prepare the phosphorous? Or do the just view and poke :?:

Our kids only ever view red phosphorous.

Same here and iodine is tested only in fumecupboard. Good to see, the teachers are on the same topic.

We are about to do this one too. In the book the teacher uses, next to the iodine and phosphorous it says "DO NOT TEST".
