I have to make up a solution of Thymol Blue for school...does anyone know the recipe for this? I think you mix it ethanol but I don't know the quanities does anyone out there?

Hi Lainyv,
Dissolve 0.4g of thymol blue in 200ml ethanol,
Make up to 1L with distilled H2O.
If you want less, just do it in proportions. :clap3:

I've got a slightly different recipe that I used some time ago.
One litre of indicator is prepared by warming 0.4g of thymol blue with 17ml of 0.05M NaOH and 20ml Ethanol. When dissolved, dilute to one litre by adding 20% ethanol in water. :)

thanks guys ...lada have now 5 spiny leaf insects and they are still hatching...thanks so much
