I got cheap slinkys from Toyworld. The only thing is that they are plastic and not as robust as the metal ones. They also had pirate flags and skull and crossbone pictures on them.
Lyn.

P.S. Why don't you just say that you are going to check out BigW/KMart/Target/ any other chain store or toy store for cheap slinkys.

I got 20, felt a bit greedy, but they had plenty . They are shorter than the ones we already have, but my HOD is ok with that, they may not get as tangled. They are the original metal slinkys, good quality for $5 vs $20 good value too :D

Short slinkys, no problem, send them to some of the students here!
Standing joke between my friday casual and myself now. I stuffed one of the 2 metre long overstretched slinkys by the students, into a plastic beaker, put sticky tape across the top and then on her friday job list, asked her if she could fix the slinky.
Didn't think she would fall for it, but suprised the life out of her when she removed the sticky tape.

For those of you who have bought the Aldi slinkies, here's how I've stored my new class set of 10. The container is from the reject shop ($2 or $3). I am planning to take the tops off the cardboard boxes they came in and contact the remaining 5 sides (and inside) to make them last (or give them a fighting chance at least!). Just thought some others might be wondering how to store :)

Last lot lasted one lesson whereas the old ones have been good for years!

It's not the slinky (all slinky's tangle). It's the kids that are let loose on them (and possibly the teachers lacking control over the kids).
