Another case of hazard overkill I found recently.....using Risk Assess I listed metre rulers as equipment for a prac, & the potential hazard the program states is "may be used for sword fighting"

I LOVE his sense fo humour in RiskAssess... and it is TRUE - I have seen kids do that and break my rulers.. another is gauze mats can be used as frisbies.. yep! they have doen that and smashed glassware...

I have a kids use meter rulers as swords all the time!!

I actually had this a couple of weeks back, we have homerooms in the labs, could hear a lot of noise went in to check and sword fighting it was, with guess who looking on. As far as hurting each other I have to admit I was more worried about them being broken and how they actually got them from the prep. room.

As I recall the chemwatch label for the handwash we used to use read: "Avoid contact with skin" ...... wtf?
