Hi all,

My HOD and physics teachers went to a recent Physics teachers conference(?) and saw a silicon wafer that increases in conductivity as it is heated. Does anyone know about this and if so where do you get the silicon wafers?

Sounds similar to a prac we recently did as a teacher demo, under the heading of metal reactivity.
Substance will not conduct electricity in the solid state.

We did not use the rheostat nor ammeter so as to keep it simple.
Instead of using lead bromide it states Zinc chloride is a safer option. In our case we used Stannous Chloride and it worked very well. I am keeping the crucible with the end product for use next time.
