Taking you through the science of cells, tissue and organ systems, to introducing ethical discussions on organ donation into your classroom, this event and associated resources will help year 8-9 teachers integrate organ donation into their science lessons, aligned to the Australian Curriculum.

2014 is the UNESCO International Year of Crystallography, celebrating 100 years since X-ray diffraction allowed scientists to study the detailed structure of crystalline materials. Now crystallography is used in practically all science disciplines, from geologists analysing and dating meteorites to chemists synthesising new drugs to fight disease.
This online session will outline the scientific principles behind crystallography, how it is being used currently, and the problems it could help to solve in the future. Potential career paths and in-class activities will also be discussed.

Re: Online PD
My very good friend here at our school recently donated a kidney to her husband.
It's a long road for both of them but they are doing ok.
