hi guys,

Im not sure what im after but i need to set some small bones etc. from owl pellets as a job for a biology teacher. Does anyone have a recipe for something that sounds like it will do this?
They are currently just in a petri dish rolling around so would like something other then just gluing them if you know of something.

Thanks

Not really. We just did the Owl Pellet prac here, and kids glued them onto black card using PVA glue. We only kept one or two of the good ones.

Jenna,

Do a search on here for 'embedded specimens'.

Noona ran a great prac at the SLAMN (then St Marys) Conference a few years back where we got to have a go at doing this ourselves.
There's some great photos on the thread.

It may still be possible to get a copy of the booklet.

Check with CSIS and WHS for the chemicals you use to embed. There can be issues that need to be overcome.
