Burettes

Post by Lorikeet »

Friends - been a while but hoping the universal brains trust can help me ...
Chemistry teacher is commenting on how the stream from the burettes is either lateral ir not running / streaming or drips ... They have been pulled apart - run HCl through them poked nichrome wire in tip ... I am tearing my hair out ...
Any suggestions ...
With thanks Kate :coffee:

Is all of them or just one or two ?

Sounds like you have done pretty much all you can .

If they are the ones with Teflon tips ,
I’m thinking the tip is damaged . You could try slicing a small bit off the end as parallel as you can with a Stanley knife . Failing that , the round filing cabinet might be the solution :console:

:cheesy:

yes we filed ours as well and then brought some more. You can buy replacement tips if using the teflon ones, cheaper than buying a whole new glass burette
