tert-Butyl Alcohol

A student was pouring tert-butyl alcohol out of the bottle when it all crystallised. Is it like glacial acetic acid where you just heat it up to use it?
It is a mystery why it did it when the temp has been a lot warmer than it usually is in Orange!
All suggestions appreciated

Hi Janice,
The Tert Butyl Alcohol can also Glacierise as to what happens also to Acetic Acid. All it would of taken was to have the bottle open to allow the warmer gases to hit the surface of the Alcohol. It is the same as Methlyated Spirits on your hand, where if you put a little on the back of your hand and blow on it the metho becomes quite cool. As the Tert butyl Alcohol has a melting point of 22.5 degrees it would not have taken much to do this.
This is what has happened to the tret Butyl alcohol.
It sounds like it was a one off thing though.
