The Nun at the time asked me to contact the funeral directors $$$$$ she suggest they could be put in with someone else. They had been in the cupboard for years...

Re: how do you identify classroom glassware
I'm so lucky my prep. room is central to the labs, all glassware stays with me and goes out on the trolleys as requested for each prac., teachers get them to rinse free of chemicals before returning. If it's to be used for another class of it goes, after checking and topping up if need be. Through t...

Re: magnesium in burettes
I wouldn't be using HCl kids aren't allowed to use concentrated even if they are going to dilute it. 10M they are, why can't the use 1.0M 50mls it would still work and not be as dangerous. We also have the plastic burettes so I guess that would make it easier.

For those who refuse to make up bromine water from scratch. (after a bad accident) Georgia Deretic who co-wrote Foschem Senior Chemistry gave me a substitute that works just as well and less dangerous. Bromine in Situ 100 mls 2m Sulfuric Acid 50 gms Potassium Bromide Dissolve Add drop by drop of Hyd...

Same here I've only ever done Mini SDS in Science Lab and Main Office, we are audited internally and externally to often to count since 2001 and have never had a problem. When and if we do I'll look at full SDS. Was always told if there is a fire, you get out! the place is insured. Except for the od...

They've stretched the springs, so just going to throw out and replace. Some were old metal ones and old plastic, how you can't see when the kids are doing the wrong thing, I don't know.

Re: Spring Balances
Morning brains trust,
I've just had a Yr 7 class using the spring balances with 250 gm masses. They have been swinging them to measure angle. Well now most are broken any idea on how I could fix them, trying to get them apart is a nightmare. Or just replace.
