Re: PSA meetings?
Hi Labbie when you say "stop us being moved" what do you mean? I feel that the lab tech is a specialised position and you can not have a casual person in the role really. There needs to be a person there looking after all the labels, SDS ordering etc. I notice on the agenda you listed ç...

Hi Kathryn
we bought thin board from Bunnings and cut it into 3 equal sections then hinged them together with duct tape or similar. They stand about 1metre high x approx 30 cm wide (3 sections)

HSC Earth and Environmental Science
Hello Everyone I spoke to someone from a school that had Diana Enthwistle teaching there. She organised an excursion for her HSC class to western NSW to look at fossils and landforms. Just wondering if anyone else does this trip and what it entails. Apparently it is a 3-day trip and the students sta...

growing waterweeds for photosynthesis in prep room
Hello All
Does anyone grow their own water weeds such as wisteria etc for the photosynthesis prac. We do this prac in yr 7 and yr 8 and it becomes quite costly at $5.00 per 5 plants. Just wondering if anyone uses grow lights and heat pads with an aquarium? or do you have an alternative prac?

Hello All What kind of water purifier do most of you have? We have a reverse osmosis system and when I came it had not been serviced (cartridges changed). It will cost over $600 to have serviced - consumables and travel. My previous schools have had a distilled system - water is heated/boiled in a s...

Re: Register of Hazardous Chemicals
This is what Chemwatch replied when I asked about the new GHS format not having 'Hazardous' on the label for Ammonium Thiocyanate (s). "GHS utilises the words DANGER and WARNING as a signal words to indicate the relative level of severity of hazard. DANGER - used for more severe or significant ...

This sounds so good. But they won't pay for me to go that far. I hope it will be repeated closer to Wollongong.

Otherwise are there any labbies from the South Coast willing to get a group together for a training session? Kathryn Hi Kathryn I would be willing...
