Re: Lab tech VS library assistant

Yeah!
And for the non DET people with the IEU
The IEU are negotiating %5 raise but will not do anything till Public service get there's because they know if they grant more thae state govt then they will lose funding
%5 on half a wage only equals %2.5 of a normal wage

Re: Take Away Food Testing

Reducing things to basics
1 get say 100g sample of meat
2 Add 100ml of water and mush
3 bring to boil for 2 minutes
4 Strain through fine mesh
5 Put in evaporating dishes & evaporate water off
6 Weigh result oil/fat & You're left with relative ratios of fat per sample

Re: Lab assistant by choice.

I was jaded by industry, Kids left home, wife worked in school, and I thought I would like to have all the same holidays, and sharing transport to work would cut costs, so when Lab assistant retired I said I could do that easy, this will be semi retirement ( silly me! ) But even so it has tremendous...

Digital counter-timer (Geiger)

G'Day Labbies
I have a Geiger counter made by Science Resources and Development Unit NSW Dept. of Education that I believe is now defunct.
What I need is a new Gieger Muller tube that plugs into the counter.
Does anyone know where I can source this or where I can go for further information?

Re: Lab tech VS library assistant

The problem is, if I have a day off, I'm not replaced and the teachers just help themselves and leave twice the mess than when I return have to work hard just to get back to square one.
So what happens if we go on strike?
