the Effect of pH on enzyme activity
H-E-L-P Brain not functioning Friday afternoon and this is the first time I have done this prac. Have dissolved 1tsp pepsin in 200 mls distilled water and need to adjust from pH2 to pH8 other than acid and base for pH2 and pH8...what other solutions can I use from pH3 to pH 7 ?? :oops: Thanks in ant...

Just a thought........make your own from polystyrene blocks saved packing appliances, tv's etc... ... recycling, cheap and disposable

Make sure you ask for and get a decent sized sink. Nobody listened to my wish list and I got a normal sized double kitchen sink with normal kitchen tap and the sink is in front of a window .... no hanging space for drainage rack anywhere near sink! For a bit of WOW factor try this.....DEMO only ....
Put a small amount of metho in an evaporating basin.
Add some solid so that it sits above the metho.
With a long taper light the metho and watch the flame colour.
If you have the glass evaporating basins...even better

I freeze my pluck ( thats with a "P" I tell my butcher ! ) and defrost to demonstrate then refreeze....never had a problem with it.
