Re: Airconditioning labs

Oh I feel for you all without air-conditioning! it seems crazy that in this day and age you don't have any and the weather here has been consistently hot. All my labs and prep rooms have A/C. I think every room in the school does. Id push the chemicals getting too hot opinion and see what they say

Re: Bunsen Burner storage

yes unfortunately the labs are used as general classrooms more often then they should be so I don't leave anything in the labs at all.
the trolleys are always ready to go and kept in the labs store that sit in between each set of labs. I have downstairs, upstairs and middle school.

We currently have 3 separate sets that sit in a tub on a trolley in-between each lab area and im slightly worried that they may get put away when the are hot even though common sense would say not to. Any suggestions? I have seen a peg board...

Re: pH solution

the hydrogen peroxide will start to break down esp in light, put in your chem store in the dark. You may also get a bit of gas produced and this can cause the tops to 'pop' off your flasks if they are tight. Just leave a little gap with your stopper and dont put them on to tight.

Re: pH solution

it would work with just distilled water and your acid ( the hydrochloric) and your base (sodium hydroxide) to put the pH up or down without the hydrogen peroxide though a fair bit of fiddling
