Re: NSW DET pay increase for SASS
Mmmmmmmmm, same here. The PSA have done their part now it's just up to the boffins at the DET to do what they've been ordered by the Industrial Relations courts to do. I'll make some calls now.

Re: Laser pointer?
There is no issue with the keeping and usage of laser devices - so long as they are securely stored and a 'laser devise in use' sign is diplayed when being used. Lasers are used in many areas in schools other than pointers including copiers and bar code readers - so if they ban them, we're stuffed! ...

Re: NSW DET pay increase for SASS
Kristin.... 1) It's a shame that there isn't an allowance (like 1st aid) for weirdness, some of us would be getting a lot more than a 12% increase over 3 years! 2) 15 years of working with teachers and their quirks does have an affect so a bit of occasional madness is completely normal (and in some ...

Where was I? Working Robb! :w00t: It's rare I get holidays to land together from both jobs. The last week of the holidays, every spare moment we were getting the yacht ready for the twillight sailing season starting this Wednesday - Yippeee! Interested on crewing one afternoon? I've twisted the arms...

Have you tried Serrata? I seem to remember something along those lines being bought up at the Science day at Kurri TAFE - someone had a similar problem sourcing science lab plumbing and Serrata had it.

There is no way I'd put Brian in the back of my car! He ate the seat of the school tractor once - luckily the GA wasn't on it at the time. We have a pile of old car tyres we're going to use for growing potatoes in and there are even teeth marks in some of those. He's a lunatic. Dee, Gosford H.S. &am...

:D I'm looking forward to the new challenge! I'm taking the mad goat with me to the new school, I don't think they'd let me leave without him. Funny thing was through talking to people here, I got the impression the SAM thought I was wrapping up this term! There would have been 2 of us in Science an...

It's going well. The carpet and aluminium door strips have been replaced and relaid, all the smashed aquarium glass is gone, the fridge and 3 PC's removed and written off, and my lovely Oscars buried in the garden outside my preproom window. I've taken your advise and kind words and buggering off to...

They've got them! Some students gave their names to police because they were as upset as the staff here about what had been done.
And the really good news is, a couple of them are over 18 so they've been charged as adults. Ahhhh, sweet justice!
Now, back to cleaning up.

That is bad news Rosalie. I tend to just leave mine alone and only view them occasionally and feed them every few days (oh and take happy snaps of them when they feel like smiling). They seem happy enough. Good on you for trying though. I had bad news from my HT Sunday night - we had a break-in and ...

I've been to the Joe Bugner school of extreme massage and yes, it does include getting a black eye! Very soothing though!
Looking forward to being at St Marys if there are any takers! Dr Robb will be wearing his Rural Fire Service boots with which to 'put your back right'

Dry Ice
Have just sourced dry ice from BOC gases at West Gosford but not sure how much to purchase for a cloud chamber experiment. It's sold at $7.45 per kilo in pellet form. I suppose if I get too much I could always blow up a PET bottle in this lovely sunshine we're having. Have to warn the neighbours tho...
