I was always taught that they should be stored , incubated upside down - so the set agar is on the top there fore any condensation is on the bottom - but then when you go to look at the growths they will turn them up and the water will go to the plate. I was told that an over amount of condensation ...

i believe QLD have gone back to doing cheek cells with a strict guideline on how it is done. Souj has iit right - WA we still are not allowed to do any human tissue including skin. i do know people that do the chicken wing scrapping but i have not tried it myself...... let us know how you go. i have had a change of name due to marriage last year and therefore my email has changed but i am unable to find where i can change this - or does it need to be done by a moderator??

If i am unable to get the msds from the company that produce the chemical (as previously posted here the online chemical msds sites) i use chemsupply as the general genertic msds and write on the top of the msds why this is being used and not the one by the company that made the chemical. i do sugge...

We give the students gloves and masks to use - they should already be wearing saftey glasses. Also they use it is a well ventialated area if not outside (doors , windows open)
There are warnings on most bags of potting mix these days about such hazards - we choose to still use the product.

OK if it is 0.1M potassium permanganate 15.8g in 1L of water then acidified with a few drops of Conc Sulphuric acid.

If you get audited i belive that the worksafe folk go by the company/manufacturer MSDS Due to these discrepencies WA has a totally differnt sytem - run by chemalert - it has a few teething problems but it supplies the manufacturing MSDS so there can be no misinterpretation/mistakes from one company ...
