Re: Gloves and allergies

We have a box of disposable vinyl gloves for kids with allergies (they haven't been used since I've been here though). They are Ansell and come in a box of 100. I was able to find them on the Bunnings website. I'm not sure if this link will work though. https://www.bunnings.com.au/ansell-handy-fresh...

Re: Risk Assessment

Just jumping on this thread (from nearly a decade ago!!) and wondering who has/still has the student riskassess and how much does it get used? We are only a small school so not sure it would be worth the extra $$ to only be used for one or 2 classes per year (especially when I have one teacher who s...

Re: can anyone recommend a dishwasher for science

Has anyone heard of ILVE as a dishwasher brand? I’ve been doing a spot of wishful thinking and came across this brand. I had never heard of it before. Do any of you have one (home or work) and can recommend them?

Re: Wanting to purchase

I found it. It was in a box I hadn't yet put up high. Is this what you are looking for? This looks like it would only hold about 250ml. What would you use this for? I have distillation set ups, but we dont use a flask like this. Curious, it is a lovely little flask. I have a heap of the big golf cl...

Let’s talk fridges!

My fridge is sick. Not dead, but sick. It is currently sitting at about 15deg according to an alcohol thermometer and 11deg according to the temperature sensor. I discovered this when I came in on Monday morning after heart dissections Thurs and Fri and me being off with sick kids on Friday. I knew ...

We just have A-E labelled “unknowns” that are the same as the knowns and they have to compare and work out which is which.

Re: MAKING A COMPOUND

At my old school they would have a Bunsen underneath (no gauze mat, just the triangle) and one aimed in the top with the lid held half on ready to just place down when it lit. Team effort and I’m pretty sure it was only seniors.

Re: Data Harvest Easy Sense Probe availability

We have stopped using data harvest. We might have what you’re looking for and can sell/give it to you? I don’t have time to check just now but feel free to send me a PM. I don’t know what the school rules/policy is about that but I will find out.

Oh wow! 30!! OK I will try them in an ice cream bucket. I do remember needing to rub them a bit and changing the vinegar but it has been a long time since I had to do it!

Re: egg membrane

Several years ago, I only ever needed one or 2 eggs at a time and used a 250ml beaker. I’ve been asked for 6 eggs. Can they all go in one beaker (or ice cream bucket?) with the vinegar or is it better to do each one separately? I’ve got until Monday to get them ready.

Re: Hot Equipment

If they are too hot to touch, they are too hot to put away. Ours are left to cool and like Merilyn said, on the rare occasion a class runs overtime and they don’t have time to cool before the lesson ends then I just pack those few things away later. Anything not hot is still required to be packed aw...

Re: Sourcing of frozen rats

It’s that time of year again! Last year someone recommended a place that delivers frozen rats in the port stephens area (NSW). It may have been someone on the Asset email list. I don’t have access to my old emails due to technical changes over the school holidays so if anyone knows who I’m looking f...
