yes make sure there is no headspace. You could pop the bottle under vacuum in a desiccator also after cooling to be super sure however probably not needed.

I'd be convincing the teachers not to use Cobalt Chloride anymore...or just don't purchase any more. We have removed all Cobalt offsite and it's amazing when you tell them that it is not available to them what interesting ideas they come up with.

Re: how do you order your Chemstore Groups ?

We have our DG stuff all in cabinets and not really stored in Alphabetical order....I have discarded so much and only keep what I really need , my aim is to be able to do a stock take by opening the doors and standing there...no touching of chemicals is needed. I have all in trays/containers (bunds)...

For casual staff I use Alumni.... if they are studying in Science often a bit of part time work and cash works well for them. We have a past students Facebook page that I use to contact them.

There are a few chemicals that get trotted out four times (for each class) once a year and sit, sulking away the rest of the time. Vinegar, acetic acid, nitrates and copper seem...

My Goodness.... I only just threw out about 10 old bottles last week...gave them a squeeze, did not split or break but felt a little to firm... in the bin.

You could ask them if they have an Australian distributor, or if you have a good sales rep with one of the suppliers you use you could try harrassing them. Alternatively, you could do the traffic light prac. Colours go from Green, red, yellow to black and the keep changing the more you move the liqu...

Re: Hydrogen peroxide

The bottle you normally buy is 35%...so if it's been open for a bit and not refrigerated it will no longer be 35% anyway. You could just give them what's in the bottle.

Otherwise (C1) (V1) = (C2) (V2)
