Re: Sodium Hydroxide solution on Risk assess
I've never used risk assess for labeling as we have saved labels on our drive, but I was having a go and I put in Acetone to see what it looks like, and it didn't have the precautionary statements or hazard statements. Isn't having those a requirement for GHS labels? If you were after the pure liqu...

Re: Stocktake programs
Added chemicals?!
We have used excel for years but I worked at another school and they use chemwatch for their stocktake and it seemed so much easier so I thought I'll give it a ago (still keeping the excel spreadsheets), I guess I'll wait till next year and see how I've managed
Thank you!

Re: Stocktake programs
Hey, I've been adding chemicals to chemwatch for our stocktake, and when I click and drag across to the corresponding folder, it says 'successfully added', but when I click on that folder it is not there... I've checked the others to see if I accidentally dropped into the wrong one but no I didn't. ...

Awesome thanks so much, I added them.
I see in the top right corner there is a report button, is this something you (or anyone) uses to generate a report or would you just print the widgets page?

Re: Stocktake programs
Hi all, I'm thinking of switching to chemwatch for our stocktake, and I've spoken to another labbie about this, but does anyone know if you're meant to run a report after all information has been entered? Or is it just when all quantities have been entered that is complete, and you can then print ea...

Re: Stocktake programs
Hi all this might be a silly question, but I'm trying to see if ChemWatch is easier to use than excel for the stocktake, and I'm entering in the quantity of methylated spirits we have (current volume) and its is asking for the maximum volume. Does this mean the max we are allowed to keep onsite? If ...

Hi,
I've been trying to find the correct name for this clip, but I'm unsuccessful. It holds the objective lens in place.
Does anyone know what this is called and where I can find a replacement for it?
Thank you!

I'm curious, when you ask for their stock-take, do they just say to you "its the same as last year"? Or have they actually done a stock-take? There are 2 of us here and I have been asked to do the stock-take and I go to the faculties and record everything and come back and enter the data o...

Yes!
We made some with Bromothymol Blue, it was great! Southern Biological have a video showing how they do it, we ended up needing to add a little more sodium hydroxide than they did, but it came out great!
We gave 1M acetic acid but found 0.1M sulfuric was better

Re: normal acetic acid
That's what I would guess.
Normal vinegar is 4-6% and also equals to 1M, and for dilute I'd probably go 0.1M
Have you asked them what they actually want?
