With all this talk i had to look up chemwatch. It says "Manganese Dioxide silica crystalline quartz" Hazard extreme but when i looked up the vendor section under Science Supply (my supplier) i find its listed as Manganese Dioxide. NO mention of silica crystalline quartz. So my question whe...

Hi they certainly used a heavy hand. I have been using riskassess for 12 months. Fantastic program. Also we have had a ohs audit and there were no problems

I work in a vic dept school. I am under a 48/52 pay scheme therefore my pay is averaged out so i do get paid for the holidays. In return for this i am expected to work at least 5 days during the holidays. These 5 days are either done at the start of the year before teachers return or as in my case i...

Hi all i have a dry ice problem. My HOD want the Year 9 students to handle dry ice and do,
(what are normally demo experiments) themselves. I am against this and feel these expts should stay demo only. :oops: :redcard: Any feed back would be appreciated

Hi Lorrae, try this for your density column:
Shampoo, Oil, Vinegar ( coloured RED), Detergent, Metho ( coloured blue) & Glycerol.
Pour the above solutions into a measuring cylinder or test tube and watch the changes.
You will end up with the different leves

This year its being held on 2nd, 3rd & 4th (1/2 day on the 4th) of December at the
