Kassh see how the plastic lids are fine but the glass one is not. Removed the glass one and go for a plastic lid.

Sodium hydroxide stock solutions should be stored in plastic containers. Glass containers should be completely avoided in the preparation and storage of sodium hydroxide solutions.

Yes Rosalie it was Metho, it's only a primary school so they would NOT have had sulfuric Acid. Did it outside in strong wind's.

Where did you find this out? Are you DoE school? I was having a look at CSIS and I can't find anything that says you can store all metals together (other than heavy metals) but things like silver, copper, lead were separate. If you are a DoE school, as of 5 years ago we could. So unless the CSIS has changed, No as of 5 years ago NO Licence is needed.
