Re: First aid kits in prep rooms
Something for people to consider, we have a wall mounted Diphoterine® kit in our Chem Prep room. We do use high concs of some chemicals so it is a must. Expensive...but not as much as what an eye would cost. Can purchase at most lab suppliers. food for thought https://www.prevor.com/app/uploads/site...

Re: Vacuum Pump

Any thoughts on what could have caused this? Should I add it to the list of repair jobs (external) or try to buy a new one? I...

Re: LEAD NITRATE
If you get a reaction and change with the more dilute solution...I'd just put it out and not say anything to the teachers in future. If anyone gets agro...just plead the safety line :) Ha - they don't get agro, more just disappointed - kind of like if I'd told them the college has banned cake. :? :...

Re: aluminium potassium sulphate and copper sulphate crystals
We evaporate off us much as we can then out for DG waste... it's a pain and costs but we are short on space so need to keep our DG store clear. Rather pay a few dollars and have our Chem store safe and clutter free.

Re: Length of Chemical Storage
Hi all, it was my understanding that if you can't find an up to date SDS for them they should probably go. If I can't find a Manufacturers SDS I use the Chewatch Gold SDS and the Department is okay with that. Seriously though I've chucked heaps of chemicals that where years old and never going to be...
